Local Bookshops

66 Scotch St, Carlisle CA3 8PN, UK – 01228 542300

Nice waterstones store with a large range of fiction and non fiction books. This store has nearly any book and if it is not in stock then the very helpful staff will order it in for you without any delay. The bonus point is there is an upstairs seating area in this store which hosts a costa coffee shop and its a nice place to relax and enjoy peace and quite in the busy city centre of carlisle

My kids would live here if they could as the store has much of the reading that they like and want. Also, there are other offers and opportunities for the customers to use in the store other than the reading materials on offer. No pushy salespeople and a quiet environment in which to browse around and in some of the stores there are cafes or coffee shops on the first floor.

17-19 Castle St, Carlisle CA3 8SY, UK – 01228 544560

Absolutely enormous book and music shop, with second hand books for any interest. Can literally spends hours in here. Watch out though easy to get lost. When you need a break from all the books stop by the attached tea rooms Cakes and Ales.

Fantastic range of books. Great breadth is genres carried in both new, old and classics. Books housed over several floors of an historic house. Delightful cafe downstairs, what's not to like. Must visit place every time I'm in Carlisle
